Stanley Clarke Vinyl Records

Stanley Clarke is an American jazz musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his innovative electric bass playing. He was a member of the seminal jazz fusion band Return to Forever, and has released over 30 solo albums.

Clarke's breakout album was 1975's School Days, which featured the iconic title track and the funky jazz number “Hot Fun.” Other standout albums include 1977's Journey to Love, 1979's I Wanna Play for You, 1981's Let Me Know You, and 1985's Hideaway.

Clarke has composed film scores for Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, and Poetic Justice, among others. His most famous compositions are the themes for the TV series Family Ties and the movie Malcolm X.

An interesting fact about Stanley Clarke is that he was the first jazz musician to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was inducted in 2018.
