Squeeze is a British rock band that was formed in 1974. The original lineup consisted of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook on vocals and guitar, John Bentley on bass, and Jools Holland on keyboards. They achieved success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with hits such as "Cool for Cats," "Up the Junction," and "Tempted."
Their most successful album was East Side Story, released in 1981, which contained the singles "Tempted," "Labelled with Love," and "Is That Love?". The album peaked at number 4 in the UK Albums Chart and number 28 in the US Billboard 200.
Other standout albums include Argybargy (1980), Sweets from a Stranger (1982), and Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti (1985).
An interesting fact about Squeeze is that they have had more than 30 different line-up changes throughout their career. They also have had a successful reunion in 2007, releasing their first album in 17 years, Spot the Difference.
