Soul-Jazz
Soul-Jazz is a style of jazz that combines elements of soul, funk, and rhythm and blues with jazz. It originated in the mid-1960s in the US and was popularized by artists such as Jimmy Smith, Eddie Harris, and Grant Green. The genre often features tight horn arrangements, a prominent rhythm section, and improvisation that emphasizes the funk and soul elements of jazz. Soul-Jazz is often seen as a precursor to jazz-funk, acid jazz, and other jazz-based fusion styles.
