Simon & Garfunkel are an American folk rock duo, consisting of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, who were both born in 1941 in New York City. They first met in elementary school and began singing together as a duo in the mid 1950s. They achieved major success in the 1960s with their albums Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., Sounds of Silence, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, Bookends, and Bridge over Troubled Water.

Some of their most popular songs include "The Sound of Silence," "Mrs. Robinson," "The Boxer," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and "Cecilia."

An interesting fact about Simon & Garfunkel is that they split in 1970 due to creative differences, and did not reunite until 1981. Since then, they have occasionally performed together, but have not released any new music.
