Roy Ayers

Roy Ayers is an American funk, soul, and jazz composer, vibraphonist, and music producer. He began his career as a jazz vibraphonist and composer in the 1960s, and has since been an influential figure in jazz, funk, and soul music. His work has been sampled by numerous hip hop and R&B artists, and has been featured in numerous films, television shows, and commercials.

Ayers is best known for his 1976 album, Everybody Loves the Sunshine, which contains the title track, a disco-funk anthem that has become a staple of the genre. Other standout albums include Mystic Voyage (1975), Lifeline (1977), and Vibrations (1976). Among his most popular songs are "Running Away", "Everybody Loves the Sunshine", and "Searchin'".

An interesting fact about Roy Ayers is that he was the first artist to use the term "jazz-funk". He has also performed with iconic jazz musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and McCoy Tyner.
