"Amorica" is the third album by Atlanta-based rock band The Black Crowes, founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson.
After two successful albums, "Shake Your Money Maker" (1990) and "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" (1992), the brothers faced the challenge of building on these successes in 1993. Although Chris and Rich have their personal problems, there is a bond that holds them together and leads to "Amorica". The "Amorica" box set and hour-long conversation with Chris and Rich reflect on how this bond was put to the test as they tried to record "Tall" (the scrapped album before "Amorica"), regroup and find the right energy to record "Amorica". They also talk about the legendary "Mushroom Party" that took place at the end of the "Amorica" sessions and influenced both the visuals and the album cover.
A remastered 2LP pressing on 180g black vinyl of "Amorica", taken from the original 1/4" production master tapes. The album's audio spans the first three sides. Side D contains three bonus tracks from the "Amorica" era: "Chevrolet" (Taj Mahal cover), "Song of the Flesh" (2025 mix) and the instrumental "Sunday Night Buttermilk Waltz" (2025 mix). The vinyl records are in a wide sleeve that holds both LPs together.
