Rick Astley is an English singer-songwriter and musician who rose to fame in the late 1980s with his debut single, "Never Gonna Give You Up." Astley's follow-up single, "Whenever You Need Somebody," was another international hit and was followed by two more number one singles, "Together Forever" and "It Would Take a Strong Strong Man." Astley released his second album, "Hold Me in Your Arms," in 1988 and its lead single, "She Wants to Dance with Me," was another number one hit in the United Kingdom and Australia. Astley's third album, "Free," was released in 1991 and was his first album to not be certified platinum. The album included the top 20 singles "Cry for Help" and "Move Right Out."

In 1993, Astley released his fourth album, "Body & Soul," which featured the singles "Hopelessly" and "Lonely Nights." Astley's fifth album, "Keep It Turned On," was released in 2001 and featured the singles "Sleeping" and "Stoned in Love."

An interesting fact about Rick Astley is that in 2007, he was the subject of an Internet meme known as "rickrolling." In this prank, people would post a link that appeared to be related to the topic at hand, but when clicked, it would lead to the music video for "Never Gonna Give You Up."
