Pub Rock

Pub Rock is a style of rock music that originated in the UK in the early 1970s. It was initially seen as a reaction against the more polished and sophisticated sounds of progressive rock and the overly commercial nature of glam rock. The genre is characterized by its raw, stripped-down sound, often featuring distorted guitars, basic chord progressions, and simple, catchy melodies. Pub Rock bands often featured gritty, hard-edged vocals and a heavy, thumping backbeat. The style was popular in pubs and clubs in the UK and eventually spread to other parts of Europe and the US.
