Paula Abdul is an American singer, dancer, choreographer, actress, and television personality. She began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers at the age of 18 and later became the head choreographer for the Laker Girls. She began her singing career in 1988 with her debut album, Forever Your Girl, which spawned four Top 5 singles, including "Straight Up" and "Forever Your Girl". She achieved four number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Music Video for her "Opposites Attract" video.

Abdul's follow-up album, Spellbound (1991), featured the hits "Rush Rush" and "The Promise of a New Day". Her next album, Head Over Heels (1995), featured the hit single "My Love Is for Real". In 1997, Abdul released her fourth studio album, Under My Spell, which featured the hit single "Spinning Around".

Abdul's most recent album, Dance Like There's No Tomorrow (2008), featured the hit single "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow".

An interesting fact about Paula Abdul is that she was the first female judge on the hit show American Idol.
