"Strange Little Girls" is a collection of songs written by men but interpreted by Tori from the perspective of various female characters. The songs come from artists such as Neil Young, the Stranglers, Eminem, Depeche Mode, Slayer, Lou Reed and Lennon/McCartney. The result is an album that focuses on men - how men see women, how they see themselves and how this view changes depending on the perspective.
