The band consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, bassist Mikey Way, and drummer Bob Bryar. The band is known for their emotional lyrics, dark yet dynamic sound, and a distinct visual style. The band released their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, in 2002. This album was followed by Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004, which featured the singles “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” and “Helena.” The band’s third studio album, The Black Parade, was released in 2006 and featured the singles “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Famous Last Words.” The band’s fourth album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, was released in 2010. The album featured the single “Sing” and was the band’s last studio album before their split in 2013. My Chemical Romance has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and have been nominated for multiple awards, including a Grammy for Best Rock Album for The Black Parade. An interesting fact about My Chemical Romance is that the band was originally named “My Chemical Romance” after a line from the song “Vampires Will Never Hurt You” by the band The Used.
