Miklós Rózsa Vinyl Records

Miklós Rózsa (1907–1995) was a Hungarian-born composer and conductor who was one of the most prolific and influential film composers of the 20th century. He composed the scores for over one hundred films, ranging from epic historical dramas to comedies and musicals. He won three Academy Awards for Best Original Score for Spellbound (1945), A Double Life (1947), and Ben-Hur (1959).

Rózsa's other notable works include the scores for The Thief of Bagdad (1940), The Jungle Book (1942), The Lost Weekend (1945), Quo Vadis (1951), Julius Caesar (1953), and King of Kings (1961). He also composed several concert works, including the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra (1947), Sinfonia Concertante (1948), and the Variations on a Hungarian Peasant Song (1951).

An interesting fact about Miklós Rózsa is that he was the first composer to use a jazz ensemble in a major motion picture score, for the film The Red House (1947).
