Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in 1983 by Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson. Their style of thrash metal combines elements of speed and technical metal, along with a punk attitude and complex song structures.

The band's breakthrough album was 1990's "Rust In Peace", which featured the singles "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" and "Hangar 18". The album is considered to be one of the most important thrash metal albums of all time.
