Krautrock is a style of experimental rock music that originated in Germany during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is characterized by a mix of avant-garde electronic experimentation, complex, often dissonant and atonal musical structures, and abstract lyrics. Krautrock musicians often used unconventional instruments such as synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic organs, while others incorporated traditional instruments such as electric guitars and basses.
