Joe Henderson Vinyl Records

Joe Henderson was an American jazz saxophonist and composer born in 1937. His career spanned five decades, beginning in the 1960s. He released over twenty albums, including several under his own name, in addition to those he recorded as a sideman with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and other greats.

Henderson's most acclaimed albums include Inner Urge (1964), The Kicker (1967), Mode for Joe (1966), and The State of the Tenor: Live at the Village Vanguard (1985). Some of his standout songs include "Blue Bossa," "Black Narcissus," "Isotope," and "Recorda Me."

An interesting fact about Joe Henderson is that he was an early proponent of free jazz, experimenting with the style on his album Mode for Joe. He was also the first African-American to be signed to the Blue Note label.
