Jimmy Smith

Jimmy Smith (1925-2005) was an American jazz musician, widely regarded as one of the most influential and innovative organists in the history of jazz. He was known for his unique style, incorporating funk and rhythm and blues into his playing. Smith's career spanned over five decades, during which he released over 50 albums and earned several Grammy nominations.

Smith's most popular albums include Back at the Chicken Shack (1960), The Sermon! (1959), The Incredible Jimmy Smith at the Organ (1956), and Midnight Special (1962). He is also known for his songs “Walk on the Wild Side” and “Root Down”.
