Jerry Harrison: Casual Gods Vinyl Records
Jerry Harrison is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as a founding member of the new wave band Talking Heads. After the band's dissolution in 1991, Harrison released a number of solo albums and worked with various other bands and artists as a producer.
Harrison formed the band Casual Gods in 1997 with his then-wife, Deborah Harry, of Blondie fame, and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bill Druzinsky. The trio released their debut album, Brand New History, in 1998 to critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone noting their "sophisticated yet accessible sound" and "slyly humorous lyrics". The album spawned two minor hits, "The Abduction of Margaret" and "Traveling Man".
In 2000, the trio released their follow-up album, Take That Ride, to similar success. The album spawned the singles "You Can't Stop the Rain" and "The Other Side", both of which received some radio play.
In 2003, the band released their third and final album, Open Your Eyes, which featured a more alternative rock sound than their previous releases. The album spawned the single "Take a Look Around".
An interesting fact about Jerry Harrison is that he is the only member of Talking Heads to appear on all of the band's studio albums. He also produced the band's final studio album, Naked, as well as their live album, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads.
