Jefferson Airplane Vinyl Records
Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1965. The band's original lineup featured Marty Balin (vocals), Paul Kantner (guitar), Jorma Kaukonen (guitar), Jack Casady (bass), and Skip Spence (drums). After Spence's departure, the band was joined by Spencer Dryden (drums) and Grace Slick (vocals).
The band's debut album, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, was released in 1966 and featured their hit single "It's No Secret". The album was followed by the more experimental Surrealistic Pillow (1967), which featured their classic songs "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit". The album also featured the ballad "Today" and the Top Ten hit "Volunteers".
The band released several more successful albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including After Bathing at Baxter's (1967), Crown of Creation (1968), and Bark (1971). Their most successful album was 1969's Volunteers, which featured the singles "We Can Be Together" and "Wooden Ships". The album was also notable for its cover of the traditional folk song "Good Shepherd".
An interesting fact about Jefferson Airplane is that they were the first band to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. They were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
