Jeff Buckley (1966-1997) was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who was considered to be one of the most influential singers of the 1990s. He began his career in the New York music scene in the early 1990s, where he was influenced by a wide range of musical styles and genres. He released his debut album, Grace, in 1994, which was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful success, featuring the hit singles "Last Goodbye" and "Lover, You Should've Come Over". His sophomore effort, Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk, was released posthumously in 1998.

Buckley's most acclaimed album, Grace, was listed at #303 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time and #2 on their list of the 100 greatest albums of the 1990s. His cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" has been covered by numerous other artists and remains one of his most popular songs. Other notable songs by Buckley include "Mojo Pin", "So Real", "Grace", and "Everybody Here Wants You".

An interesting fact about Jeff Buckley is that he was the son of the singer-songwriter Tim Buckley. He was also a talented guitarist and had an extensive musical knowledge and appreciation. He was known to be a perfectionist when it came to his music, often spending days in the studio perfecting one song.
