James Horner was an American composer, conductor, and orchestrator of film scores. He is best known for his Academy Award-winning score for the 1997 film Titanic. He was born in 1953 and was exposed to music at an early age, as his father was a concert pianist. He studied music at the Royal College of Music in London and then at the University of Southern California, where he earned a master's degree.

Horner composed scores for over 100 films, including Braveheart, Aliens, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Avatar, The Mask of Zorro, and The Amazing Spider-Man. His standout albums include The Legend of Zorro, Avatar, and Titanic. His standout songs include “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, “I See You” from Avatar, and “The Mask of Zorro” from The Mask of Zorro.

An interesting fact about James Horner is that he was the first person to win two Academy Awards for Best Original Score in consecutive years, for Titanic in 1998 and for A Beautiful Mind in 2002.
