Ian Dury and the Blockheads were an English rock and roll band that formed in 1977. The band was led by the singer-songwriter Ian Dury and included saxophonist Davey Payne, guitarist Chaz Jankel, bassist Norman Watt-Roy, drummer Charley Charles, and keyboard player Mickey Gallagher.

The band's most successful and acclaimed album was their 1978 debut New Boots and Panties!!, which featured the singles "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" and "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick". Other standout albums include Do It Yourself (1979), Laughter (1980), and Mr. Love Pants (1998).
