I Musici is an Italian chamber orchestra formed in 1952 by twelve professional musicians. The orchestra has had a wide range of repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary music, and has been widely credited as one of the most influential and important early music ensembles of the twentieth century.
I Musici has released numerous acclaimed albums over the years, including Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” (1958), Bach’s “Brandenburg Concertos” (1962), and Mozart’s “Piano Concertos” (1965). They are also known for their recordings of works by Debussy, Mendelssohn, Corelli, and Telemann.
Some of their standout songs include Vivaldi's “Summer” from “The Four Seasons”, Bach's “Air on a G String” from “The Brandenburg Concertos”, and Mozart's “Eine kleine Nachtmusik”.
An interesting fact about I Musici is that they were the first ensemble to perform Vivaldi's “The Four Seasons” in its entirety, in 1958. This performance is widely credited with reviving the popularity of Vivaldi's works, which had been largely forgotten until then.
