Hunters & Collectors are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1981. Led by vocalist Mark Seymour, the band combined pub rock, new wave, art-rock and experimental elements to create their unique sound. The band achieved mainstream success in the mid-1980s with their albums Human Frailty (1986), What’s a Few Men? (1987) and Ghost Nation (1989). The band had several Top 40 singles and hits including “Throw Your Arms Around Me”, “Say Goodbye”, “When the River Runs Dry” and “Holy Grail”.

The band’s standout albums include Human Frailty (1986), What’s a Few Men? (1987) and Ghost Nation (1989). Human Frailty is generally regarded as their best album and spawned the singles “Throw Your Arms Around Me” and “Say Goodbye”. What’s a Few Men? was the band’s most successful album, peaking at No. 3 on the Australian Albums Chart and featuring the singles “Do You See What I See?” and “Is There Anybody In There?”. Ghost Nation was their most commercially successful album, reaching No. 1 on the Australian Albums Chart and spawning the singles “Holy Grail” and “When the River Runs Dry”.

An interesting fact about Hunters & Collectors is that they had a long-running association with the TV series Round the Twist. They provided the theme song for the first three seasons, and Mark Seymour wrote the lyrics for the songs featured in the show.
