Green On Red Vinyl Records

Green On Red was an American rock band formed in Tucson, Arizona, in 1979 by Dan Stuart, Chuck Prophet, Jack Waterson, and Chris Cacavas. The band blended country, blues, and punk rock with literary lyrics to create a unique, darkly poetic sound. They released their first album, Gravity Talks, in 1983 and went on to release five more studio albums and two live albums.

Their most acclaimed album is 1985's Gas Food Lodging, which featured the song β€œTime Ain’t Nothing”, which was later covered by Johnny Cash. Other standout albums include 1987’s The Killer Inside Me, 1990’s Here Come the Snakes, and 1995’s No Free Lunch.

Green On Red was an influence on many bands, including The Black Crowes, Wilco, and The Old 97s. An interesting fact is that Jack Waterson was the brother of the late Adam β€œMCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys.
