Grant Green Vinyl Records

Grant Green (1931-1979) was an American jazz guitarist and composer who is best known for his soul jazz and hard bop styles of playing. He recorded more than 50 albums in his lifetime, and was the first artist to record an all-instrumental jazz-funk album.

Green's standout albums include Idle Moments (1963), Carryin' On (1970), and His Majesty King Funk (1970). His most notable songs are "Sookie, Sookie," "Idle Moments," and "Mambo Inn."

An interesting fact about Grant Green is that he was one of the few jazz guitarists of his time to perform without a pick. He was able to achieve a distinctive sound by using his thumb and index finger to pluck the strings.
