Galaxie 500 Vinyl Records

Galaxie 500 was an American indie rock band that formed in 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts. The band was comprised of vocalist and guitarist Dean Wareham, bassist Naomi Yang, and drummer Damon Krukowski.

Galaxie 500 released three full-length albums during their tenure: Today (1988), On Fire (1989), and This Is Our Music (1990). Their standout albums were On Fire and This Is Our Music. On Fire featured some of their most beloved songs, including "Tugboat," "Strange," and "Fourth of July." This Is Our Music included some of their most popular songs, such as "Decomposing Trees," "King of Spain," and "Hearing Voices."

An interesting fact about Galaxie 500 is that they were one of the first indie rock bands to be signed to a major record label, as they signed with Rough Trade Records in 1988. This helped pave the way for other indie rock bands to gain recognition in the mainstream.
