Freddie Mercury (1946-1991) was an English singer, songwriter and record producer best known as the lead vocalist of the British rock band Queen. Born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar, Mercury moved to England in his teens and joined Queen in 1970. He wrote some of Queen's most popular songs, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "We Are the Champions", and "Don't Stop Me Now".

Queen's most successful albums are A Night at the Opera (1975), News of the World (1977), The Game (1980), and Innuendo (1991). Their most popular songs include "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "We Will Rock You", "We Are the Champions", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", and "Another One Bites the Dust".

An interesting fact about Freddie Mercury is that he was a multi-instrumentalist, playing piano, guitar, and drums. He also had a four-octave vocal range and was a trained operatic tenor.
