Freddie King was a blues guitarist and singer who was born in 1934 in Texas. He is considered to be one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time, and was known for his soulful, hard-driving style. He began playing guitar at a young age and was heavily influenced by the likes of T-Bone Walker and B.B. King.
Freddie King's most successful album was the 1972 release "Burglar", which featured the hit single "Going Down". Other standout albums include "Let's Hide Away and Dance Away with Freddy King" (1961), "My Feeling for the Blues" (1960), and "Freddie King Sings" (1973).
Some of his most popular songs include "Hide Away" (1961), "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" (1960), and "I'm Tore Down" (1972).
An interesting fact about Freddie King is that he was one of the first blues musicians to incorporate rock and roll into his style, and was an influence on rock guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was also a session musician for Chess Records in the 1950s, and his guitar playing can be heard on several early rock and roll hits.
