Frans Brüggen Vinyl Records

Frans Brüggen (1934-2014) was a Dutch classical flutist, conductor and baroque music specialist. Brüggen was a renowned performer of both solo and chamber music, as well as an eminent conductor of the major orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad. He was also a highly sought-after recorder player and recorder teacher.

Brüggen's most acclaimed recordings include Mozart: Flute Concertos (1985), Bach: Brandenburg Concertos (1987), Vivaldi: Flute Concertos (1989), Bach: Orchestral Suites (1993), Mozart: Clarinet Concertos (1994), Handel: Water Music (1994), Telemann: Recorder Concertos (1996), and Mozart: Symphonies and Concertos (2002).

Some of Brüggen's most popular songs include Mozart: Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major, K. 313; Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047; Vivaldi: Flute Concerto in G minor, Op. 10, No. 2, RV 439, "La Notte"; Handel: Water Music Suite No. 1 in F major; and Telemann: Recorder Concerto in F major, TWV 51:F1.

An interesting fact about Brüggen is that he was the first musician to record all six of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. He also founded the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century in 1981, a period instrument orchestra that specializes in the performance of baroque and classical music.
