Focus Vinyl Records

Focus is a Dutch progressive rock band formed in 1969. They are best known for their hit single "Hocus Pocus", which featured a mix of yodeling, vocal harmonies, guitars and flute solos. The band has released nine studio albums and five live albums, as well as several compilations.

Their most successful and influential album is 1971's Moving Waves, which featured the single "Hocus Pocus". The song's unique style, which mixed rock, jazz, classical and folk elements, made it an international hit. It reached number nine in the US Billboard Hot 100 and number two in the UK Singles Chart. Other standout albums include 1971's Focus 3, 1973's Hamburger Concerto, and 1975's Mother Focus.

An interesting fact about Focus is that their frontman and main songwriter, Thijs van Leer, was trained in classical music and played a variety of instruments, including flute, violin, and harpsichord. He was also an accomplished yodeler and his vocal harmonies and flute solos have become a trademark of the band's sound.
