Deborah Harry is an American singer, songwriter, model and actress, best known as the lead singer of the new wave band Blondie. Harry began her music career as a backing singer with the folk rock group The Wind in the Willows in the mid-1960s. After the band disbanded, Harry and guitarist Chris Stein formed the rock band Blondie in 1975.
Blondie's most successful albums include Parallel Lines (1978), Eat to the Beat (1979), Autoamerican (1980) and The Hunter (1982). Notable singles include "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," "Rapture" and "The Tide Is High."
An interesting fact about Deborah Harry is that she was the first artist to be featured on the cover of the British magazine "Smash Hits," which was released in 1978.
