Daryl Braithwaite is an Australian rock singer and songwriter who was born in Melbourne in 1949. He started his career in the 1960s as a member of the group Sherbet, achieving success both in Australia and internationally. After leaving Sherbet in 1982, Braithwaite embarked on a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums and singles.

Braithwaite's most successful album is Edge, released in 1990, which reached #2 on the Australian charts. Other standout albums include Rise (1988), Razor Sharpe & Friends (1995), and Twenty One (1999).

Notable songs include "One Summer" (1990), "As the Days Go By" (1990), and "The Horses" (1991). The latter was an international success, reaching #1 on the charts in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand.

An interesting fact about Braithwaite is that he has won two ARIA Awards, for Best Male Artist in 1990 and for Best Adult Contemporary Album in 1995.
