Dan Hartman was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He began his career in the mid-1970s and was best known for his dance-pop and rock hits, such as "Instant Replay," "I Can Dream About You," and "Free Ride." He was also a prominent songwriter, writing for artists such as Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Tyler, and Edgar Winter.

Hartman's first solo album, Images, was released in 1975. His second album, Instant Replay, which featured his biggest hit, "Instant Replay," was released in 1978. In 1983, Hartman released his third and final album, I Can Dream About You, which featured the title track and "We Are the Young," both of which were Top 40 hits.

One interesting fact about Dan Hartman is that he wrote the theme song for the television show WKRP in Cincinnati. The song, titled "WKRP in Cincinnati," was released in 1978 and became a Top 40 hit.
