Concrete Blonde is an American rock band that was formed in 1982 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup included Johnette Napolitano on vocals and bass, James Mankey on guitar, and Harry Rushakoff on drums. The band released their debut album, Concrete Blonde, in 1986. The album spawned the hit single βStill in Hollywoodβ, which peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The bandβs follow-up album, Free, was released in 1989 and was certified gold in the US. It featured the single βJoeyβ, which became their biggest hit, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The bandβs other standout albums include Bloodletting (1990), Walking in London (1993), and Group Therapy (1995).
Concrete Blondeβs other popular songs include βGod is a Bulletβ (1990), βTomorrow Wendyβ (1993), and βCarolineβ (1995). The band disbanded in 1995, but reunited in 2006 and have released two albums since then.
