Christopher Cross is an American singer-songwriter from San Antonio, Texas, who rose to fame in the 1980s. He won five Grammy Awards in 1981, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, becoming the first artist to win all four general field awards in the same year.

Cross' most successful and critically acclaimed album is his debut self-titled album, released in 1979. The album spawned the hits β€œSailing”, β€œRide Like the Wind”, and β€œNever Be the Same”, all of which charted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. His follow-up album Another Page (1983) included the hit single β€œThink of Laura”. Cross' other albums include Back of My Mind (1986), Window (1988), and Waking Hour (2004).

Cross is also known for his collaborations with other artists, including β€œArthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)” with Peter Allen, Carole Bayer Sager and Burt Bacharach for the 1981 film Arthur, and β€œNo Time for Talk” with Stephen Bishop for the 1983 film The Man with Two Brains.

An interesting fact about Christopher Cross is that he was one of the first artists to record a digital album. His 1985 album Every Turn of the World was recorded entirely on the 3M Digital Mastering System.
