Charles Aznavour (born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian) was born in Paris, France in 1924 and is one of the most popular and beloved singers and songwriters in the French-speaking world. He has released more than 1,200 songs and sold more than 180 million records. He is best known for his powerful, expressive baritone voice and his romantic, sentimental songs. He has written some of the most iconic French chansons of all time, including “La Bohème”, “La Mamma”, “Je M’voyais Déjà” and “Emmenez-Moi”.

Some of Charles Aznavour's standout albums include Charles Aznavour: The Very Best of (1993), Charles Aznavour (2001) and Charles Aznavour: The Best of (2006). His most famous and beloved songs include “La Bohème”, “La Mamma”, “Je M’voyais Déjà”, “Emmenez-Moi”, “Comme Ils Disent”, “She” and “For Me Formidable”.

An interesting fact about Charles Aznavour is that he was the first non-English speaking artist to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He was also the first French-language artist to have a number one hit in the United Kingdom with his song “She”. He has also been awarded the Legion of Honor, France’s highest decoration.
