Butthole Surfers Vinyl Records

Butthole Surfers is an American alternative rock band formed in San Antonio, Texas in 1981 by Gibby Haynes and Paul Leary. They are known for their psychedelic, avant-garde sound and outrageous live shows.

The band’s most successful and influential album was their major label debut, Electriclarryland (1996), which reached number one on the U.S. Heatseekers chart and produced the hit singles “Pepper” and “The Shame of Life”. Other standout albums include Hairway to Steven (1988), Locust Abortion Technician (1987), and Pioughd (1989).

Notable songs include “Pepper”, “The Shame of Life”, “Something”, “Hurdy Gurdy Man”, “Graveyard”, “Lady Sniff”, “Human Cannonball”, “Dracula from Houston”, and “Cherub”.

An interesting fact about Butthole Surfers is that the band was chosen to open for U2 on their 1987 Joshua Tree tour, and Gibby Haynes was famously arrested during the show in Seattle for exposing himself.
