Bronski Beat Vinyl Records

Bronski Beat is an English synthpop trio formed in 1983. The group is composed of singer Jimmy Somerville, Steve Bronski and Larry Steinbachek. The group’s debut single “Smalltown Boy” was a success in 1984 and was followed by the album The Age of Consent. The album was a huge success, reaching number 3 in the UK Album Chart and spawning the hits “Why”, “It Ain’t Necessarily So” and “I Feel Love”.

The group released their second album in 1985 titled Hundreds & Thousands, which spawned the hits “Hit That Perfect Beat” and “C’mon C’mon”.

Their third album was released in 1986 titled Truthdare Doubledare, which spawned the hits “Screaming” and “Carry On Dancing”.

The group disbanded in 1987 and Jimmy Somerville went on to form The Communards.

Bronski Beat’s standout albums include The Age of Consent (1984), Hundreds & Thousands (1985) and Truthdare Doubledare (1986). Their standout songs include “Smalltown Boy”, “Why”, “Hit That Perfect Beat”, “Screaming” and “Carry On Dancing”.

An interesting fact about Bronski Beat is that they were one of the first acts to be signed to London-based record label Mute Records.
