Billy Idol is an English punk rock singer and songwriter from Middlesex, England. He was a member of the Bromley Contingent, a group of Sex Pistols fans that included Siouxsie Sioux and Billy Duffy. Idol's solo career began in 1981 with the release of his debut album, Billy Idol. He went on to become one of the most successful and influential artists of the 1980s and 1990s, selling over 25 million albums worldwide.

Some of Idol's standout albums include Rebel Yell (1983), Vital Idol (1987), Charmed Life (1990) and Cyberpunk (1993). Some of his most popular songs include "Dancing with Myself", "White Wedding", "Rebel Yell", "Eyes Without a Face", "Cradle of Love", "Flesh for Fantasy" and "Sweet Sixteen".

An interesting fact about Billy Idol is that he was once the lead singer of the punk band Generation X.
