Big Brother & The Holding Company Vinyl Records

Big Brother & The Holding Company was an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1965. They were one of the earliest psychedelic rock bands, and their most popular lineup included Janis Joplin (lead vocals), Sam Andrew (guitar, vocals), Peter Albin (bass), James Gurley (guitar), and Dave Getz (drums). Big Brother & The Holding Company is best known for their 1967 album Cheap Thrills, which was the band's most successful release and included the hit singles "Piece of My Heart" and "Ball and Chain." The album peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum in 1998. The band's other notable albums include Big Brother & The Holding Company (1967), How Hard It Is (1968), and Be A Brother (1970). Big Brother & The Holding Company also released two live albums: Live at the Carousel Ballroom 1968 (2005) and Live at the Fillmore East 1968 (2009). An interesting fact about Big Brother & The Holding Company is that they were the first band to be signed to the Fillmore East Records label, which was created by Bill Graham.
