Ballad

Ballad is a form of music that tells a story and typically follows a rhyme scheme and/or meter. It is often associated with folk music, but has been used in many other genres as well. Ballads have been around since the Middle Ages, with many being composed and shared orally. Ballads were often used to tell stories of love, war, and everyday life. In the 19th century, ballads began to be composed for the piano and published in sheet music. The style has been adapted and used in a wide variety of genres, from rock to jazz to country.
