Arvo Pärt is an Estonian composer who is considered one of the most influential composers of the late 20th century. He has composed in a variety of genres, including choral, orchestral, and chamber music, as well as film scores and solo piano pieces.

Pärt's breakthrough came with his choral composition, "Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten" (1977). The piece uses a technique he developed called tintinnabuli, which creates a simple, bell-like texture that has been described as "spiritual" and "meditative". Other notable works include "Tabula Rasa" (1977) and "Passio" (1982).

His albums include "Lamentate" (2005), "Adam's Lament" (2013), and "Te Deum" (1984). His most popular songs include "Spiegel im Spiegel" (1978), "Fratres" (1977), and "Tabula Rasa" (1977).

An interesting fact about Pärt is that he was the first living composer to be featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1997. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Polar Music Prize in 2004, which is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to music.
