Arne Domnérus is a Swedish jazz musician known as one of the most influential saxophone players in Europe. He was born in 1921 and began his career in 1945, working with various jazz bands. He released his first solo album, Arne Domnérus and His Swedish All Stars, in 1957. Domnérus went on to record several albums, collaborating with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Stan Getz. Some of Domnérus' standout albums include Jazz at the Pawnshop (1976), Jazz at the Movies (1982), and The Old Times (1987). He also recorded two albums with pianist George Russell: East Side, West Side (1965) and All About Rosie (1974). Some of his most popular songs include "Duke Ellington's Sound of Love", "Stardust", "My Funny Valentine", and "Lullaby of Birdland". An interesting fact about Arne Domnérus is that he was the first European jazz musician to record in the United States, in 1961. He was also awarded the Royal Swedish Music Award in 1974, an honour given to musicians for their outstanding contributions to Swedish music.
