Anthrax Vinyl Records

Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City that was formed in 1981. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Neil Turbin, guitarists Dan Spitz and Scott Ian, bassist Danny Lilker, and drummer Charlie Benante.

Anthrax's breakthrough album was 1987's Among the Living, which featured the singles "Caught in a Mosh" and "I Am the Law" and established the band as one of the most prominent acts of the thrash metal scene. Other notable albums from the band include 1990's Persistence of Time, which yielded the hit single "Got the Time" and featured an experimental direction for the band, and 1993's Sound of White Noise, which featured the singles "Only" and "Black Lodge".

In addition to their studio albums, Anthrax has released several live albums and compilations, including 2004's The Greater of Two Evils, a collection of re-recorded songs from their early albums. Anthrax is also known for their covers of songs by other artists, including Joe Jackson's "Got the Time", Trust's "Antisocial" and AC/DC's "T.N.T.".

An interesting fact about Anthrax is that they were one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal, along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. The four bands are widely considered to have defined and shaped the thrash metal genre.
