  • The title song of this, the last Doors album with Jim Morrison, who died shortly after its release, has "perhaps the best Chuck Berry riffs since the Stones," as one critic noted. And that, without even mentioning "Love Her Madly", which became one of the biggest hits in the charts for the Doors.

"Love Her Madly" was written by Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger, who is said to have written the song because of the countless times his girlfriend threatened to leave him. The song rose to number 11 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles
and became number 3 in Canada.

"L. A. Woman" was still at the top of the charts when, just as in the poem "actor out on loan" in the last song of the LP - the celebrated "Riders On The Storm" - Jim Morrison died in a bathtub in Paris in the summer of 1971.

With titles like "The Changeling", "Crawling King Snake" as well as the airy, exuberant title song, this collection tended towards the blues - especially with Morrison's boastful trademark "Lizard King". Overall, Rolling Stone declared "L. A. Woman" "the Doors' best album, the first included" and "setting standards and worth being danced on the streets.

    "
Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings are proud to announce that all six studio LPs - "The Doors", "Strange Days", "Waiting For The Sun", "Soft Parade", "Morrison Hotel" and "L. A. Woman" - will be released at 200g / 45rpm. All varnish foils were cut by Doug Sax from the original analog master tapes, except "The Doors", this title was mastered from the best available tape copy.

Truly an authentic republication project in which the original recordings were made with tube equipment, the tape recorder for playing the master tapes is a tube equipment and the cutting system is the same tubes throughout.

Now is not the time to mope - the Doors now on Analogue Productions!
