Ambient

Ambient is a genre of music that emerged in the late 1970s. It is characterized by a lack of rhythm, atmosphere, and often a deliberate lack of structure or musical narrative. Ambient music often uses electronic instruments, including synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines, and may incorporate elements of drone, classical, and experimental music. Its intent is to create a calming, immersive atmosphere and to evoke an emotional response. Ambient music was pioneered by musicians such as Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, and Pink Floyd.
