Plastikman, Gonzales – Consumed In Key (3xLP, White vinyl)

Turbo Recordings presents its biggest work to date in 2022, a reinterpretation of Plastikman's 1998 masterpiece "Consumed."

"Consumed In Key" is the name of the collaboration between DJ, musician and techno producer Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman and Canadian pianist and musical genius Chilly Gonzales.

Turbo on the original and the reissue: "A masterpiece of restraint, depth, and music as architectural vision, 'Consumed' was deeply influential and shaped the soon-to-be-emerging Minimal movement. Shortly after its 20th anniversary, Chilly Gonzales was inspired to compose accompanying piano pieces (Counterparts) and shared them with Tiga, who became the link between the two artists. Hawtin mixed the new collaborative work, giving each artist their own place within the project, more of a sonic conversation between them than a conventional collaboration."

Almost three decades in the making, it's now ready: "Consumed In Key" comes as a 3-LP set on black vinyl and as a limited edition with three white LPs. The artwork is a reinterpretation of the original album, a cutout in black and white. Both the records and the packaging were made from recycled materials.
