Acid

Acid is a style of electronic music that originated in the mid-1980s. It is characterized by the use of a Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer to create a repetitive and distorted sound, often with a "squelchy" or "fuzzy" sound. The style is heavily influenced by disco, funk and psychedelic rock, as well as early hip-hop and techno. Acid has since become a staple in the electronic music scene, with many sub-genres emerging from it, such as Acid House, Acid Techno, Acid Trance and Acid Breaks.
