Rob was one of the hottest musicians in Ghana in the 70s. In 1977 he released "Make It Fast, Make It Slow", his second album for the legendary label Essiebons. Among collectors, this has long had trophy status. So it's time for a market-clearing re-release. Rob's rediscovery began with a track on the first Soundway release, "Ghana Soundz", the title track of the album, now available for the first time outside Ghana. After that the wish to completely re-release "Make It Fast, Make It Slow" increasedUnlike his first album, which is more funky and danceable, "Make It Fast, Make It Slow" is slower - Rob moves musically on the same territory, but has slowed down the tempo and seems more introverted. Rob's trademark, the brass, dominates here, played by Mag-2, an army band led by Amponsah Rockson. With religious tones and a thoughtful atmosphere, the album is certainly one of the more unusual Afro-Funk recordings from West Africa.
