Steve Winwood is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who began his career as a teenage prodigy with the Spencer Davis Group in 1963. He then went on to become a member of the supergroup Blind Faith and Traffic, before launching his solo career in 1977. His most successful solo albums include Back in the High Life (1986) and Roll With It (1988), both of which reached the top of the Billboard album chart.

His standout albums include Arc of a Diver (1980), which contained the hit single “While You See a Chance”, and Back in the High Life (1986), which featured the Grammy-winning songs “Higher Love” and “The Finer Things”. He also released the Traffic albums John Barleycorn Must Die (1970) and Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory (1973), which contained the hit single “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys”.

An interesting fact about Steve Winwood is that he was the first British artist to have a single reach the top of the U.S. charts with "Higher Love" in 1986.
